Are you destined to read this?... go ahead!

ज़िन्दगी तो अपने ही दम पर जी जाती है, औरों के कन्धों पे तो जनाज़े ही उठा करते है.

This statement goes for all those people who do not have the strength to live their own lives, and blame others for not been able to achieve what they desire. This goes for everyone out there who blame destiny for their failures, to hide their insincerity, to show the world their helplessness, lack of courage, lack of clarity, vision and strength. Seldom do they realize that life is all about doing your best and achieving what you so dearly want and desire, and there's no fun is accepting whatever comes your way. If you are given 2 lakh rupees every month, you probably won't have that much value for it as compared to the situation when you slog your ass 12 hours a day for 30 days and earn 30 thousand per month. Those 30 thousand will be much more valuable and precious to you than those free 2 lakhs rupees. Something which comes easy doesn't have value and people lose respect and value for the same. Sadly this goes true for human beings also.

People who blame destiny for their failures fail to realize their importance in the whole situation. They never work towards making things right for them, rather wait for "destiny" to make it right for them. They never realize that destiny is never written, we all write our own destiny by how we react to a given situation. Blaming failures on others are nothing but mere excuses and traits of losers and escapists. What is YOUR contribution to the situation? What have YOU done to make things better for yourself rather than just brooding over it and blaming others and making excuses? Do you have the attitude in you to change your world? Can you do it for yourself? Well, it's not everyone's cup of tea and majority of us choose to be this way. Of course, it requires certain degree of maturity to realize this fact and make it a part of your life. Go ahead guys, write your destiny, and the world will be yours!

Thank you mom!

Thank you for everything Ma, you are more than just a mother to me. I look at you for everything, for emotional support, for guidance; you help me with my judgements, and are there with me at all times. In my worst of situations, you were the one who showed me the light and the brighter side of life. You are the one without whom I wouldn't have come out of the situation I was into few months back. You are the true epitome of selfless love I always wanted, someone who's not judgemental about me on baseless things.

You were there with me at my lowest moments in life, when everyone failed to understand me, and when all I needed was a few words of encouragement and love. You were there when I needed you the most, your love and support gave me the strength to bounce back and face the world with a more determined and positive attitude and the belief that yes, I can conquer whatever comes my way! And here I am, back with a vengeance, and a stronger self belief!

Thank you mom, I owe my everything to you. You are a friend, a parent, a guide and a counsellor to me, and I love you a lot! Thanks a lot ma :)

Adding a twist to maggi...

Ever purchased a pack of your favorite maggi only to realise that the taste maker is missing? You try searching it everywhere, try seeing if the pack was puffed, but it's no where to be seen. You yell at your maid if she's the one who stole it!! No luck. Try looking at every corner of the kitchen as if the taste maker magically made it's way out of the pack and hid somewhere. Still no luck!! What do you do next? Throw it? Or buy another pack of maggi and use it's taste maker with the one you have, making it half insipid (yeah, that's the joy of sharing!!)? Some mathematics freaks might buy multiply packs, cook all of them together INCLUDING the one without the taste maker, making the insipid effect a little less apparent (lets call it the insipidity coefficient. Cooking 3 packs together, 2 with taste maker and 1 without, IC = 1/3; with 4 packs: IC = 1/4 etc)!!

Ok, this is what I did. Bored with work, I went to the kitchen looking for something to eat. Deciding between corn, cheese sandwiches or a piece of chocolate, I decided to cook maggi for myself. I happily opened a double pack, only to find only ONE taste maker inside! Initially, I wanted to call up the customer care @ nestle and sue them for their blunder, but then better sense prevailed and I started finding ways to make use of whatever is available at hand, owing to my almost half dead appetite!

Necessity being the mother of invention, I immediately boiled some water, added chopped capsicum, American corns, little salt, red pepper for spice, amchur power and a little finely ground black pepper. After two minutes of boiling, I added the maggi cake, along with 2 teaspoons of butter and half a tea spoon of Chunky Chat Masala!!! To make things better, a grated a little cheese on top of it, once it was off fire. Wow, the aroma was way too appetizing to make up for the loss of it!! I had it with tomato ketchup and pudina chutney!! Yummm!!

Conclusion 1: Whenever there's a problem at hand, look at ways of solving it rather than blaming it on others and creating a piteous situation (I am glad that a mere taste maker, rather the lack of it, was able to teach me this. I feel so proud :D)
Conclusion 2: It's only when there's a problem that you'll think about ways to solve it (very obvious!). Problems open up new avenues, and we use our brain to do something out of the box so as to achieve what we desire.
Conclusion 3: Give it a try; what you get in the end might even be better than what you initially expected. Nevertheless, give it a try, the feeling of having tried and failed is better than not having tried at all (David Deangelo's statement: Shooting for the moon and landing in the mud is better than shooting for the mud and making it)!! (Next time Nestle is going to get a tough time!! :P)

Cheers, bon appetit!

A friend's engagement

It was 2 months back when one of my friends got engaged to his girlfriend of 6 yrs (no, the girlfriend is not 6 yrs old, their relationship is)!! Despite all frictions and the fights (and subsequent breakups and reconciliations) they've had in the past, they finally decided to take the big decision and settle down together. It was truly overwhelming to see them together; the day they waited for so long is finally here!!

The day of the engagement was truly the one to be remembered and treasured forever! It was fun seeing Anurag (that's my friend who got engaged), who was as nervous as one can be! It was pretty apparent from his swelled up face, even the back of his neck was red!! I believe anyone would, being the centre of attraction on this day, something he waited for such a long time and it finally coming true is like a great feeling. One tends to get cautious and tries to put the best foot forward. The best part was when his fiancee was with him for the ring ceremony and he had trouble even putting the ring in her finger, he was as jittery as a a jelly (lol, this reminds me of the Tom and Jerry cartoon, when Tom, after eat the jelly wiggles very much the same way!). The camera captured all the apt emotions! What a day!!

The marriage is on 23th of May, sasan on 21st, and we are again looking forward to some exciting and preservable moments which will be cherished forever! All the best bro, and good luck!!
